COVID-19 Information & Resources

Needless to say, the COVID pandemic and the regulatory and other responses to the pandemic continue to evolve.

We're providing our clients and contacts with regular information and support to manage these difficult and sometimes complex issues. There's also a wealth of helpful information available online, though it can be difficult to find, so below we've listed some key questions and issues and included links to information which we hope you find useful:

  • Can I require that my staff be vaccinated? The Work Work Ombudsman has recently provided further guidance. Click here to review the new information.

  • Can I ask employees about their vaccination status? Check out this information from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Note however that most small businesses (<$3m annual turnover) will not be covered by the Privacy Act - check here. Nonetheless, all employers should take care in terms of collecting and using personal information.

  • What are my options for managing staff (stand downs, reducing hours, directions to take leave etc...)? Check out the recording of our recent webinar, run in conjunction with Anil Puri of Chan & Naylor Business Coaching (note that info was current as at the date of recording - 20th July, 2021).   • What are the current public health orders for NSW? They can be confusing, but this page contains the relevant information (be sure to check back for regular updates)

  • What financial and other assistance is available for businesses impacted by COVID? Check here for details (links to financial assistance info is about halfway down the page). Note that this page also includes information to help you set up an "electronic check in" facility for your business, now mandatory for many businesses.

  • What financial assistance is available for individuals and households impacted by COVID? A range of assistance is available - check here for details.

  • How can I make the workplace COVID-safe? Of course, all employers have a responsibility to insofar as practicable ensure safe workplaces. SafeWork NSW and Safe Work Australia have published a range of helpful resources.

  • Is there support for mental health? The mental wellbeing of many people (business owners, managers, staff and families) is being negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and associated restrictions. If you or a member of your family or your team need help, there is a range of support options available, much of it free. Please reach out to someone if you need assistance.
